Jajarkot/March 24 Ganesh Bahadur Nepali, 24, and Nirmala Basnet, 22, of Sodari in Salma VDC-5 have not been able to return home even after one year of their inter-caste marriage. They had got married on March 31, 2013 but were forced by the villagers to leave the village on April 1. The couple is currently living in Dashera VDC-8 at the home of Nepali’s relative. Meanwhile, a dalit woman who got married to a non-dalit has been left stranded with her four children, aged between 8 and 2 for the last four months after her husband of 10 years got married to another woman from his own community. Jamuna BK, 29, of Pokhara in Khalanga VDC-6 was married to Gangaram Budha, 31, 10 years ago. She has four children refused to be owned by her in-laws. According to Jamuna, Gangaram came home for dashain from Himanchal Pradesh in India where they had settled down following family disapproval of their marriage. However, following the pressure from his relatives, he got married to a woman from his own community, Bhawana Budha. When Jamuna came to the village searching for him, Gangaram and Bhawana fled and remain out of contact. She is facing the problem of supporting her children as the in-laws have refused to let her in for she being a dalit. R
