Police have arrested Dakneswari Municipality-7’s ward member Birendra Kumar (40) and four others in accusation of killing Mansher Devi Mandal (55) of Dakneswari Municipality-7 Bramhapur.
Including ward member Birendra Kumar, Kari Sah (35), Ram Prasad Sah (55), Dhanbir Sah (22) and a 15-year-old boy was arrested by Area Police Office, Kalyanpur, informed inspector Dharma Raj Mudbari.
According to the victim’s brother-in-law, the victim was killed after severe beating. The police had reached the incident spot immediately after getting the information.
Mandal had gone to fix the dispute that was caused due to fishing in the pond. The accused had used a bamboo stick to kill her. She was attacked on her head. The victim died immediately after being attacked, informed Mandal’s nephew Pancha Narayan Mandal to INSEC’s representative.
In the incident, SIta Devi Mandal (35) of the same place was also injured and she is being treated at a local clinic of Rajbiraj.
The dead body has been taken to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital for post mortem. Investigation is ongoing regarding the incident, informed inspector Santosh Khadka of District Police Office.
