65-year-old Arjun Jung Karki has been beaten by the chairperson of ward 1 in  Salpasilichhong Rural Municipality, Ganesh Budhathoki. Budhathoki reportedly beat Karki by blocking his way at Agrakhe of the ward. According to Karki's wife, he sustained injuries on various parts of his body including chest, hand and leg. He is undergoing treatment at Biratnagar. Ward chairperson Budhathoki claimed that he only had a minor scuffle with Karki after Karki hurled foul language at him. Police released Budhathoki after briefly arresting him, informed inspector Bhaskar Khatiwada of Area Police Office Dingla.
