Pankha Bahadur BK, 25, of Mugraaha in Shubhakalika Rural Municipality-4 has been beaten by a group of three including Arjun Shahi, 23, Kamal Shahi, 22, and Yuvaraj Shahi, 19 of the same place.
The victim informed INSEC representative that he was beaten on August 11 while trying to enter the temple to worship the Dhabalpura deity at Machhewadi in Shubhakalika Rural Municipality-7.
According to the victim, the accused had blocked his way saying that he could not enter the temple as he was a Dalit. They had beaten him; thrown stones at him threw him down the cliff.
The victim is undergoing treatment for serious injuries on his right leg and neck, informed Katak Mahat, Information Officer of the District Hospital, Kalikot.
The victim has registered a case against the accused on caste-based discrimination at the District Police Office, Kalikot on August 13.
According to Kalikot Police Chief DSP Shyam Oliya, a case of caste-based discrimination has been registered and the search is on as the accused involved in the incident have absconded.
