Rautahat/ April 18 Khuswari Khatun, 18, of Gamhariya Parsa VDC-4 has lodged a complaint at Women and Children Service Centre on April 17 against her husband Pervez Alam, 22, and father-in-law Sekh Jahire, 50, accusing them of depriving her of food and expelling from the house. The victim said that she was married to Alam three years ago and since then she has been living with her parents. According to the Muslim tradition the wife can only return after her husband comes to take her home. She complained that no one has turned up to take her back. The victim is in process to charge them under Domestic Violence Act, according to SI Geeta Ranabhat of the Center. Similarly, Sajan Khatun, 24, of Basbitti Jhingadiya VDC-7 has lodged a complaint at Women and Children Service Center on April 17 accusing her husband Sekh Khursaid, 28, of beating her in an inebriated state. The victim said that she was severely beaten and wounded by her husband on April 15. The case has been lodged under Domestic Violence Act, according to SI Geeta Ranabhat.
