Relative's of Birendra Bogati of Mahakali Municipality-1 Dodharachandni, a person with mental illness have accused Area Police Office Jhalari of beating him in custody. Bogati has been undergoing treatment for mental illness since the past 8 years. Area Police Office Jhalari had arrested him on the charge of assaulting locals and police on August 27. Bogati is currently undergoing treatment at Nova hospital in Dhangadhi after sustaining a serious injury in police beating according to his family. Bogati's brother reported that he has sustained an injury in various parts of his body and is unable to speak and move properly due to police beating. According to his brother, doctors have said that his mental condition had worsened due to the police beating.
