Narayan Prasad Bhandari, a principal of Bhimsen Basic School of Tinpatan Rural Municipality-8, Sindhuli, has been released four hours after he was abducted on August 29. He was abducted at 9:30 am on Saturday by a group of 15 unidentified persons who were said to be the cadres of banned CPN (Biplov) Maoist. Later on, he was released with the help of locals and the police after 4 hours of the abduction.
The abductors were surrounded by the locals but before escaping by seeing the police. According to the District Police Office, Sindhuli, one person was arrested while fleeing from the siege. Police said that they have cordoned off the area and are searching for the abductors.
SP Ranju Sigdel of District Police Office, Sindhuli said the reason behind the abduction of teacher Bhandari was not known. Police also recovered a suspicious item from the arrested person.
