23-year-old Sabina Thapa of Kanepokhari Rural Municipality-5 in Morang district who was 7-months-old pregnant died on Thursday after Biratnagar Hospital refused to admit her. She sustained the injury after slipping in the toilet. Her relatives took her to Biratnagar after her condition deteriorated on Wednesday. She was taken to Nobel Medical College, Birat Medical College, Birat Nursing Home, Green Cross, Koshi Hospital and Suraksha Hospital in Biratnagar, but none of these hospitals admitted her for treatment.
Savina's mother Durga Sundas said that everyone refused to treat her even though she was taken to various hospitals in an ambulance overnight. Sabina, who was taken to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan at around 2 am on Thursday, died shortly after.
