A 12-year-old Dalit girl Phulsari Mangranti (Sarki) in Urlabari-4, Thapadangi of Morang has been beaten by Neighbor Nandlal Shrestha, his wife Nirmala and 23-year-old son Ambir on September 7.
According to Durga Kumari Roka, victim's relative, the girl was brutally beaten for entering the house of her neighbour Nannadal Shrestha to fetch ice water.
Durga has lodged an FIR at the Area Police Office, Urlabari alleging that the Dalit girl was beaten due to caste discrimination. Police have arrested 23-year-old Ambir Shrestha on the charge of being involved in the beating. Subash Rai, Chief Inspector of Area Police Office, Urlabari informed that the incident is being investigated.
