Two arrested on charge of human trafficking

A team of police deployed from Police Headquarter Human Trafficking investigation bureau, Babarmahal arrested two accused on the charge of being involved in human trafficking and smuggling.
The arrested have been identified as Rikesh Maharjan aka Ravi (32) of Lalitpur Metropolitan-9, and Kamala Lama (22) of Namobuddha Municipality-9, Kabhrepalanchowk district.
It has been revealed that they had took two persons from Kathmandu to Manila via Malaysia and held them hostage, by taking 4.1 million rupees in August 2019, saying that they would take them to the US.
According to the Bureau, necessary investigation is being carried out on them as per the Human Trafficking and Smuggling Control Act, 2007 AD.
