Parbat/ May 8 Durga Datta Subedi and Kalika Subedi of Shankarpokhari VDC-9 have been remanded in custody by a court order on May 8. The accused were charged of murdering their daughter in-law. The victim, Bimala Subedi, 22, went on missing since January 16 and her body was recovered after two months near the Kaligandaki River bank. The postmortem of the body was done on April 5 at District Health Office. The complaint was lodged by the victim’s mother Khem Kumari Gautam of Danda Kharka VDC-1 against them and other family members on April 5 at District Police Office accusing them of murdering her. Based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s family, the in-laws were arrested by the police on the same day and remanded in custody for the further investigation, said DSP Shyam Krishna Adhikari.
