Press Organization padlocks the FNJ- Bajhang Branch

Sudurpashchim, Bajhang, Jaya Prithivi

Press Organization Nepal in Bhajang on September 14  demanded the dismissal of non-journalists and locked the office of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) as the president and the secretary of FNJ were giving membership to non-journalists in a grandiose manner without coordinating with any official of the federation and recommending their relatives for membership rather than professional journalists of the federation.

The agitation is said to be staged in phases until the Federation of Nepali Journalists corrects its activities. In a released statement, they have demanded that the politics within the federation be reduced and that the membership of relatives and activists of political parties be revoked.

Earlier, FNJ  objected to the circular from the central office and the state to recommend the names of journalists working in the field of journalism in the district and sent a letter of recommendation signed by its President with the names of 36 new members to the central office to which Press Organization staged this agitation.

Although the profession of journalism is dignified and independent in itself, its not the same in the Bajhang FNJ which is only been headed by President Jagdish Rokaya and Secretary Shailendra Rokaya.
