On 24th of September, doctors of Birgunj protested by working with black bandages on their hands against the indecent treatment meted out to Professor Dr. Govinda KC. while taking him inside the National Trauma Center.
Doctors and health workers accused the government of suppressing the democratic right of an individual to raise a voice on the issues of direct concern of people. After Dr. KC refused to go to the National Trauma Center, he was admitted to the Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj as per his will..
Pushing forward the 19-point demand, Dr KC started a hunger strike at the Baviramsht Temple in Ranichaur of Chandnath Municipality-6 Since September 14. He was brought to Kathmandu for treatment as his health is deteriorating. In a press conference, they demanded to address his legitimate demands immediately for the improvement of quality health care and medical education
