Three Children in Custody of District Forest Office

Surkhet,3 balak ban karyalaya ma thunama. Surkhet/ May 13 The District Forest Office of Surkhet has taken three children in custody since four days. Narendra Tiruwa, 12, of Lekhparajul VDC-2, Deepak Sharma, 13, of the same VDC and Hari BK, 12, were taken into custody by DFO on charge of illegally transporting timber on May 10. The DFO said that the children might have been used by other people for timber smuggling and the investigation is underway. Shambhu Prasad Chaurasiya, officer at DFO, said that children and woman have been arrested in many occasion while transporting timber, however they say that they are involved in such activities to earn living. He further said that due to the unemployment, these people are involved in such activities. He added that investigation was ongoing into the incident. The children are kept with other detainees. Chaurasiya further said that the office was compelled to keep the children in custody as investigation was underway.
