Raj Kumar Lamsal, district correspondent of Tarai Television has been beaten up by Hem Man Shrestha, a teacher at the Sunrise Boarding School in Sagachok5 on February 22. Shrestha, a resident of Chautara8 assaulted Lamsal, a resident of Bhotsipa1 on charge of reporting news against him while the latter was having a haircut at Chautara8.

Lamsal was attacked after he reported a news on Shrestha teaching in private school despite taking government salary.

Shrestha who is a permanent teacher at Kalidevi Primary Schook in Syaule5 has been teaching at the Sunrise Boarding School since a long time. The District Education Office (DEO) had also sought a clarification from him on the issue.

The victim had informed DSP Basant Kumar Lama of the District Police Office (DPO) about the incident on February 23. According to Lamsal, DSP Lama assured to take action against Shrestha if he repeated the action.

However, DSP Lama said that police did not take any action because Lamsal had not filed any complaints.
