A team from the Kathmandu Metropolitan Crime Branch has arrested 35-year-old Vinay Majhi also known as Vinay Shrestha of Indravati Rural Municipality -11, Badegaun from Naya Basti -14 of Hetauda on October 5 who was on the run after killing a woman by taking her hostage.

Majhi had killed a 36- year-old Pampha Shrestha on May 19, 2019, in a flat at Kageshwori Metropolitan-14, Gothatar. She was originally from Sindhupalchowk and living in Jorpati in Sindhupalchowk on June 20.

During the investigation, it was found that Majhi had taken the deceased Pampha to his own room and held her hostage since 3rd of May, 2019. The body of the woman was found in the bed of the same room on May 19. The room was locked from the outside.
