NSU padlocks rural municipality office in Doti

The village unit committee of the Nepal Students' Union (NSU) padlocked the office of the rural municipality of Purbichauki, Doti accusing the employees of corruption and exploitation of government property.  

They locked the office after finding that the people's representatives, office heads, and health workers had gone to Kailashkhola of Achham district for a picnic in a government vehicle. They expressed that the staffs have been deployed to serve the citizens have neglected their responsibility for the citizens and misused the government property.

Meanwhile, Village Municipality Chairman Dirgharaj Bogati said that he was not aware of the news of the lockout in the municipality. He said, "Employees may have gone somewhere after office work on Friday. It is not necessary to exaggerate the issue after office hours. We have not done anything to affect public service."
