30-year-old Mamta Devi Mehta of Dewanganj-7, Sunsari was beaten and indecently treated by her brother-in-law Raj Kumar Mehta and his friends Ram Kumar Yadav and Subesh Yadav around 7 pm on October 4 over a dispute over family property. The victim's husband Dinesh and his brother Raj Kumar were in the dispute over the land of (36450 Square feet) for last four years.
The victim sustained injuries in her head, mouth and back of the neck due to the beating and her health condition is now normal after four days of treatment at the Golden Hospital in Biratnagar.
The victim tried to lodge a complaint at the District Police Office, Sunsari after the Harinagara Police Post refused to register the complaint and released one of the accusers just after 2 days of arrest. However, after the petition was not registered there, the victim then sent a complaint through postal service (Registration No. 3820862) to register a complaint in a criminal incitement case according to the Badri Yadav, Chairman of ward-7.
