Abducted Youth Released After 10 Days

Dipendra Chaudhari aka Dipu, 28 of Maheshpur9 and running a grocery shop at Ghurmi Bazaar of Phulbariya3, who was abducted by an unidentified gang ten days ago, has been released by police from Baluwa Devghat of Madhubani district of India on February 22.

 

Rajesh Kumar Lal Karna, SP at district police office, speaking at a press conference at Mirchaiya Area Police Office on February 23, said that a team led by Khang Narayan Sah, Inspector at Mirchaiya APO had released Chaudhari from a bush at Baluwadevghat. Chaudhari was found blind folded with and hands and legs tied, police said.

 

SP Karna said that a local person had made plan of the abduction and police arrested a relative of the person who had mastermind the abduction. The abductor agreed to release Chaudhari if his relative was released from police custody. As per the condition, Chaudhari's release was possible, police said. Karna, however, did not make public name of the person involved in masterminding the abduction citing that it will affect his arrest.

 

As the physical and mental condition of Chaudhari was poor, he has been taken to Dharan for treatment, police said.

 

Chaudhari was abducted by an unidentified gang while he had been returning home after closing his shop on the way at 7 pm on February 13.

 

The abductors had been demanding to provide Rs. 25, 00000 for Dipendra's release over phone calls to a neighbor's cell phone immediately after his abduction, Dipendra's father, Bechu Chaudhari said.
