A police team deployed for security to control crowd considering Covid situation at Kankasundari temple in Kankasundari rural municipality of Jumla were attacked in Ladku village by a group of 11-12 people including Birkha Bahadur Khatri, ward chairman of the same rural municipality-5, his son Prem Khatri and Danav Bahadur Bohara. There were only 4 policemen and they were beaten with stones and sticks until they lost consciousness.
Police constable Kamal Singh Bista, who was injured in the attack demanded legal action against the culprit and urged not to compromise the incident in any political way. He is undergoing treatment at Karnali Health Sciences Academy Teaching Hospital, Jumla. There are five stitches on the head. There are serious injuries in the chest, nose and right shoulder joint.
According to Inspector Devraj Bhattarai, two persons named Ankit Khatri and Dan Bahadur Bohara are under police control. The search for the other person continues.
