A gathering of scouts in Bharatpur formed a struggle committee against the individualism and politicization seen in the scouts under the coordination of Shiva Prasad Baral in Bharatpur, October 30. The struggle committee is preparing to submit the memorandum to the District Administration Office, Chitwan and Bharatpur on Sunday, November 1.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the formation of a state-level ad hoc committee dismissing the district scouts, the scouts formed a struggle committee. The disgruntled scouts alleged that Chitwan was not represented in the state-level committee, those who did not have knowledge of scouts were included in the committee and the scouts were developed as a party for political distribution.
The committee constitutes Sachin Jung Karki as co-coordinator, Ishwar Gurung, Santosh Bastakoti, Ganesh Thapa, Gopi Tamang, Ashok Dhakal, Ramu Pandey, Surya Tiwari, Mahesh Subedi, Singh Bahadur Kunwar, Lilanath Gautam and Sangita Parajuli as members.
There are more than 300 scouts training in Chitwan. More than 4,000 students are involved in Scouting. There are 400 students as rover and ranger. There are 85 troops and 6 crews. Scout activities have been taking place in community and institutional schools
