Bhulai Yadav of Udayapur Ghurmi of Birgunj Metropolitan City-27 was allegedly detained and tortured by the Parsa Deputy Superintendent of Police Manojit Kunwar. Five days ago, Yadav's daughter-in-law Lalsadevi and neighbour Dhuri Yadav's family ran into a dispute about cutting gross. The dispute turned violent and Bhulai's daughter-in-law Lalsadevi sustained a broken hand in the incident.
Police only arrested Baliram, son of Dhuri Yadav, in the incident and did not arrest the accused. To find the reason, Bhulai went to the police station but he was tortured by the police and beaten with a pipe by tying his hands and feet. Bhulai's brother even accused police of trying to acquit the perpetrator through the financial transaction.
Nepali Congress district president, Ajay Dwivedi and Janata Samajwadi Party district president Ram Naresh Yadav demanded action against the culprits. Deputy Superintendent, on the other hand, said that Bhulai was already ill and became unconscious in the jail, he claimed that Yadav was not tortured in any way.
