UML Ubun village committee chairperson and Khachapu Drinking Water Project worker Devmani Rai has been seriously injured in the beatings by NC cadre Man Bahadur Rai.

Devmani was attacked by Man Bahadur accusing him of low quality of the work on February 18. He has sustained deep cuts above right year and back.

He has been taken to Okhaldhunga Health Center after local medical facility recommended for it. Devmani said he was attacked on the pretext of substandard work in the project only because of his political affiliation adding he used to receive threats from Man Bahadur.

Devmani has filed an FIR at District Police Office on February 20 demanding action against the accused. DSP Sudam Kumar Sijapati said he would forward the action and summon the accused for investigation.
