CPN-Haripurwa has staged a torch rally in Sarlahi’s Haripurwa municipality alleging corruption in municipal programs. The CPN-Haripurwa Municipal Committee has staged a protest saying that there is no work for the promote of agriculture in the municipality, even though Haripurwa is an agriculture dominated municipality.
Bikau Yadav, coordinator of the CPN-Haripurwa Municipal Political Mechanism Committee, said that they staged a torch rally as there was excessive corruption in the budget of COVID-19 program and education. Yadav also accused the Mayor Siyaram Rai and Chief Administrative officer had not provided the asked document sand information of the work done from past three years. The mayor of Haripurwa Municipality, Siyaram Rai, claimed that the allegations against him were false.
The torch rally that was carried out from Naya Bazar area marched different areas of the municipality and has turned into a corner rally at the old bazaar.
