The 12-year-old Sahil, son of Moraja Rai, chairperson of ward 1of Janaki Rural Municipality, Banke, is missing s for the past three days. He has been out of contact after he left home on November 3 accompanied by 22-year-old Hanuman Kurmi. Sahil’s uncle Samsul Rai suspected that he might be kidnapped.
Family sources suspected that the boy might have been kidnapped over a dispute related to construction of a roadside ditch in Panchpokhara about a month ago considering the attempts made to attack the ward chairperson by hurling stones at him when he was in Panchpokhara to arbitrate a dispute between two groups of villagers over a roadside ditch construction one-and-a-half months ago. Though a case was registered with the police regarding the assault attempt on the ward chair, no one has been detained so far.
The family informed the police about the missing son. Police are searching for him but so far no trace of him is found.
