Jamiat Ulama-E-Nepal protested on November 12 in Kathmandu against China’s ‘brutal repression on Uyghurs’ and detention centers in Xinjiang demanding an end to repression of Uyghurs in Xinjiang and the lifting of China’s ban on Muslim culture. They called on China to release detained Uyghurs and called on the Chinese government to stop demolishing mosques and other Muslim centers and to restore the Muslim culture.
China’s treatment of Uyghur Muslims has drawn worldwide criticism. A UN committee said that China has detained about a million Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang. Chinese Police are keeping a close eye on millions of Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang province, according to a report by Human Rights Watch.
