Muslim community in Birjung demonstrates against China’s ‘oppression of Uyghurs’

The Muslim community protested in Birgunj infront of Parsa - DAO saying that China has oppressed and persecuted Muslims- Uyghur Community and that human rights abuses are on the rise. They alleged that the Chinese government imprisoned and tortured 1.8 million Uyghur Muslims as well as banned Uyghur Muslims from fasting and wearing the burqa in China.
They protested with placards stating "Protect the human rights of Uyghur Muslims, stop the atrocities against the Uyghur community, and give freedom to Uyghur Muslims."
Muslims in Nepal stated that they have already submitted a memorandum in this regard to the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. Earlier, Muslims in Nepal had staged similar protests in various districts including Kathmandu and Rupendehi.
