A powerful explosion took place at Tapli Rural Municipality office in Udayapur district on November 22.IED went off on the veranda of the first floor of the rural municipality office. The explosion damaged the cabin, help desk, and furniture inside the rural municipality chairperson Uddhab Thapa and vice chairperson Kamala Maya Rai's offices. It also destroyed a table, a chair and a carpet inside the office.
Chief of District Police Office, Udayapur, Bhim Bahadur Dahal, said that a team of police from Rupatar Police Post reached the incident site after locals informed the police about the explosion. Another team of police led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police from the Area Police Office, Katari, also reached the site. They said that they are still unclear what kind of explosion occurred there. Rural Municipality Chair Thapa said that it was still unclear who was involved in the blast.
