Khotang/June 3 Police have filed a case against Bhalkaji Rai, 21, of Jalapa VDC-6 on June 3 on charge of marrying a minor and Japan Rai, 35 and local Madan Rai, 24, on charge of being accomplices. According to District Police Office's Inspector Ramesh Kumar Dev informed that the case was filed after the family members of Kopila Rai, 14, of Makpa VDC-4 claimed that the accused had forced her to get married as she had gone to Jalapa for shopping. The family claimed that they had forced her to marry Bhalkaji on May 25. Bhalkaji was arrested by the police in Chiuridanda VDC on May 31 while others remain at large. Police said that they forwarded the case after learning that the marriage had taken place without the consent of the girl's guardians.
