An unidentified person set fire to the pickup van of Bechan Mukhiya of Bishnupur Rural Municipality-6 in Saptari district on Saturday morning. According to the Mukhiya, the person set the pickup on fire around 1 am on Saturday. He said property worth 2.4 million rupees was damaged because of the arson in a pickup with number plate SA 1 CHA 1725.
District Police Office, Saptari said they brought the fire under control with the help of locals, police and fire brigade from Rajbiraj.
Police suspect the pickup may have been set on fire because of personal political revenge. Police said further investigation is underway.
