The Nepali Congress, the main opposition party has staged demonstrations across the country including in Hetauda.

They have protested across the country against the government's mistreatment of senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel in Tanahu.

The protest at Buddhachowk in Hetauda was addressed by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Spokesperson Bishwaprakash Sharma, Central Member Mahalakshmi Dina Upadhyay and Congress Bagmati Pradesh Parliamentary Party Leader Indra Bahadur Baniya.

They said the government has increased corruption and has failed to meet the expectations of the people.
