The officials of the community forest padlocked the Shuklaphanta Sub-Division Forest Office on January 3, demanding the lift of the ban on the collection of firewood and timber. For the same cause, they have been continually staging protests for the past few days.
Since the ban on collecting firewood from community forests was imposed, there is a scarcity of firewood for marriages, religious functions and cremation.
