A woman named Sapna Banu was physically assaulted by the locals on the charge of stealing a purse of a local female by tying her to a pole in Hanuman Ghat of Bhaktapur-7 on January 5. Despite denying of theft charges multiple times, around 7 female assaulted her.

The police reached the spot and investigations found no evidence against the victim. she was sent back after interrogation.
