NCP and Nepali Congress (NC) cadres clash at Rukum West Police Office, police fire warning shots to contain situation

Three ward chairpersons of Athabiskot Municipality 3, 8 and 9 of Rukum West were beaten by different party cadres during a discussion at the police office to resettle the dispute between two political parties; Nepali Congress and Nepal Communist Party. Police also fired nine rounds in the air to control the situation.
Ward Chairman of Ward No. 9 Tarak Bahadur Shahi (close to Nepali Congress) was beaten by Ward Chairman of Ward No. 3 Keshar Man BK and Ward Chairman of Ward No. 8 Man Bahadur Chanara (both close to NCP-Dahal-Nepal faction) in front of the police.After the attack on ward chairperson Shahi, Nepali Congress-backed cadres also attacked ward chairpersons Keshar Man and Man Bahadur.
Disputes and clashes have been taking place between NCP and NC cadres in Athabiskot over drinking water and bus counter.
