34-year-old Rajendra Yadav of Mayadevi Rural Municipality Ward-7 of Rupandehi was found murdered and dumped near Gairgatti Danav River on January 19. Police investigation revealed that he was strangled to death by a group of 8 people including his own brother Birendra Yadav out of greed to get land and Rs 2.5 million.

The arrested accused are identified as Sant Kumar Yadav, Ram Belas Yadav of Siyari Village Municipality-2, Buddhiram Kohar, Rakesh Yadav of Siddhartha Municipality-11 and Aftaaf Musalman including the brother. While Indrajith Yadav and Sonu Murau are absconding.

It is alleged that Buddhiram Kohar, the mastermind of the murder, borrowed Rs 20,000 in cash from the uncle of the deceased and Rs 70,000 the next time.
