Police baton-charged students affiliated to Prachanda-Madhav faction during protest in Kathmandu

Students affiliated to the Prachanda-Madhav faction of NCP staged a protest near the Federal Parliament in Kathmandu on Monday against the dissolution of parliament.

Demonstrators affiliated to All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU) of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) scuffled with police as they attempted to organise a flash mob in front of Gate no 3 of Parliament in Kathmandu.

Police baton-charged the protestors while trying to stop the demonstration which left one protestor injured.

Demonstrators tried to set off color smoke near the parliament which has been declared a restricted area by local authorities.
