PYUTHAN: Floods triggered by torrential rainfall have claimed three lives, including two minors, in Khung VDC-8 of the district on Thursday night. According to DSP Deepak Regmi of the District Police Office, Pyuthan, two others are unaccounted for after the floods. The deceased have been identified as three-month-old Ayush Giri, two-month-old Ayushma Giri and Barsiya Dev Giri (42). Similarly, the missing have been identified as Dom Bahadur Giri (66) and Raju Kunwar (24). DSP Regmi said that the floods swept away three houses and five cowsheds in the village. About 18 houses of Khala and Dasmura villages are at high risk of being swept away due to floods and landslides, according to police.
