A journalist was beaten while reporting during the general strike called by Prachanda-Nepal faction of NCP in Mahendranagar Bus Park in Kanchanpur. Former minister and NCP leader Urvadatta Pant, former mayor of Bhimdatta Municipality Ishwori Prasad Kharel and other leaders abused and physically assaulted journalist Madan Giri.
