Eight Journalist Organizations of Karnali province staged a joint protest in the state capital Birendranagar on February 14 against the dissolution of the House of Representative. The protest started from Mangalgadhi Chowk in Birendranagar and turned into a corner assembly after reaching Pipal Chautara. According to the protestors, the protest was organized against the unconstitutional move of dissolving the parliament and the anti-press freedom movement.

The protest was jointly organized by the Press Organization Nepal, Nepal Press Union, Nepal Press, Press Society Nepal, Federation of Revolutionary Journalists, Parliamentary Affairs Journalists Society Karnali Pradesh, National Dalit Journalists Association and Federation of Nepal Indigenous Journalists.
