Makawanpur Police resorted to two rounds of blank fire to control irate locals attacking the police for seizing and burning their marijuana. According to DSP Indra Bahadur Rana, a team of police deployed from Area Police Office Newarpani were targeted by the locals after the police seized and burnt the marijuana.
DSP Rana informed that the police were attacked at Raksirang-1, Kupintar. Police arrested Kanchha Lal Rumba, 43, of Raksirang for obstructing the police investigation.
The police had recovered 18 quintals of cannabis hidden in a field in Raksirang-1, Galchharang on Saturday. The locals blocked the road and attacked the police vehicle and the policemen on their way back to the office.
