The All Nepal Women's Association (ANEM), close to the Dahal-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), staged a protest rally at the district headquarters Rajbiraj on February 21 against the increasing violence and rape against women in the country. The rally was taken out of the party office in Madannagar that reached the local Jana Andolan Chowk and turned into a corner rally.
Addressing the corner meeting, the women leaders accused the KP Sharma Oli-led government of remaining silent despite the rising number of rape cases in the country and the government of hiding those involved in murder, violence, and rape.
