Business entrepreneurs from Nepal and India have staged a joint demonstration in Dashgaja on February 21 in protest against the obstruction of the arrival of tourists in Belahiya-Sunauli. Business including tourism in the border cities of both the countries has come to a standstill due to the non-arrival of tourists. Entrepreneurs carrying flags of both countries chanted slogans for an hour and a half in the Dashgaja area between Nepal and India and demanded to open tourist vehicles from the checkpoint.
President of the Siddhartha Hotel Association said that the two sides had joined hands with the Indian businessmen to draw the attention of the government to strengthen the movement as no response was received even after the seven-day ultimatum given to the government to meet their demands.
