A scuffle took place between the civil activists and police in Kamalpokhari. The incident took place when the police tried to stop the activists from demolishing the concrete structure ('Dhalan") saying they do not need a cemented Kamal Pokhari.

The activists started demonstrations and chanted slogans against the mayor of Kathmandu Bidhya Sundar Shakya, and the police. Earlier, they had also staged a march from Maitighar to Kamalpokhari saying that cultural heritage site Kamalpokhari should not be destroyed. They are also planning to picket the metropolitan office on February 28.
