Sunsari/ June 23 The complaint of caste discrimination lodged by Bhul Kaji Biswokarma, 40, of Dharan Municipality-16 has reached settlement in the presence of police on June 22. The victim had lodged a complaint at area police office on June 22 against his neighbor Bhagwati Bhandari, 50, accusing her of discriminating him on the basis of caste during her son Jeevan's marriage. The complaint states that he was deprived of touching a food during the ceremony as he belongs to a lower caste. The police arrested Bhagwati; however, the case was settled in presence of both party, said journalist Dinesh Gajmer. It was settled by organizing a joint feast in presence of Dalit coordination committee chairperson Leela Shanker and many others. The case was not taken forward despite the complaint as both parties came to the area police office seeking settlement in the case, said Inspector Mukunda Rijal.
