BIRGUNJ: At least 10 persons, including three policemen, have been injured in a clash that ensued at Janakitola Police Post of Parsa on Wednesday morning. Among the injured police personnel are Assistant Sub-Inspector Sanjiv Jayaswal and Constables Binay Jha and Jibnath Dhital. According to witnesses, the clash ensued after police tried to book one Ranjan Yadav, son of the former VDC Secretary, on charge of riding a motorcycle without wearing helmet. After the situation worsened, police had to open fire in the air in order to prevent untoward incident. Police have claimed that Yadav and his friends manhandled police personnel on duty, after which the clash erupted between them. DSP Shyam Mahato said it is outrageous to protest against policemen on duty for urging the public to follow traffic regulations.
