A bomb has been found inside the premises of Shree Tribhuwan Janata Higher Secondary School based in Khalanga on March 17. The explosive device was found buried inside the school compound.

A barrack under the Nepal Army's Bhairabidal Batallion was set up in the school during the wartime for the safety of the district headquarters.

According to an 11 grade student Jamuna Devkota, the laborers working for the construction of the new building found the explosive device.

Though police suspected the explosive device to be 81mm mortar, chief of the Nepal Army's The Famous Mahindra Dal Battalion Rukum, Sahadev Khadka said that the explosive device was an improvised explosive device. He added that a bomb disposal team had been deployed to defuse the bomb.

A bomb was also found last year buried inside the same school premises. Students and locals have been terrorized after abandoned bombs have been found time and again in the district.
