Saptari/ June 26 Narayan Prasad Raut, 30, has been arrested by the police on June 25 on charge of beating his wife Komal Devi Raut, 29, of Ko Basain VDC-3. The accused was presented at the district police office, said SI Badan Pradhan of area police office. The accused was arrested based on the complaint lodged by the victim at area police office on June 22. The victim was beaten and injured by the accused with bamboo stick while she was returning back after shopping at Hanuman Bazar on June 19. She was beaten after the court decided to provide three fourth of the property of the accused to the victim and her children, said victim’s father Daya Ram Raut. She has been living with her children at her parental home at Bathanaha VDC-6 after the accused did not allow them to stay at his house. The victim sustained bruises on her body due to the beating. Complaint against the accused has been lodged at women and children center. The victim underwent a medical checkup at zonal hospital of Rajbiraj.
