The family of the deceased, 35-year-old Nitesh Kumar Rai (alias Kancha) of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-3, refused to take his body demanding an investigation claiming that he was murdered based on the bruises on his body and injuries on his face. The body has been at Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar for the past four days.

Rai went to Biratnagar Metropolitan City-19 Dhanpura on March 18 to meet his friend and was found hanging in a tree in Dharampura the next day.
