A clash broke out between students of the Nepal Student Union (NSU) and police during NSU's protest on April 5 against the increase in the price of petroleum products in front of TriChandra Campus in Kathmandu. They demanded to take back the decision of the price hike.
The corporation had increased petrol, diesel and kerosene prices by Rs 2 per litre with effect from April 4. The new retail price was Rs 120 for petrol and Rs 103/103 for diesel/kerosene respectively.
