Nine Nepali Congress leaders and cadres have been arrested during a demonstration against the price hike in petroleum products. Police arrested them during a peaceful sit-in at the gate of Nepal Oil Corporation and kept them at Police Club Bhrikuti Mandap. Among the arrested are central members Shyam Bahadur Gurung, Pradyumna Karki, Durga Ghimire, leaders Roman Puri, Sarvajit Sherchan, Bir Bahadur Bamjan, Dhana Acharya, Rukumani Shrestha, and Sushil Raj Wagle.
Congress BP has demanded immediate release of those arrested.
